Track high value assets better
with Active RFID Solutions
We provide you with a wide selection of active RFID systems and solutions to choose
from, WhereNet (now part of Zebra Technologies).
What is an active RFID tag?
An active tag solution is one that typically involves real-time tracking/location
of assets, personnel, containers, pallets, or virtually anything where a reusable
or semi-permanent ID tag can be applied. These solutions involve reader/tag configurations
that will read as close as several feet and up to 300 feet. In addition we have
solutions that can utilize existing Wi-Fi network infrastructure (Access Points
and an 802.11 wireless network) along with corresponding ID tags to track Wi-Fi
enabled devices.
What is the value of RFID technology?
The value of RFID's flexible technology enables your company to reach a level of
process discipline that goes well beyond the reach of human interaction or alternative
technologies. In other words, you'll have accuracy and predictability, which reduces
cost, optimizes the use of assets, and enables you to deliver consistent service
levels to your customers.
Why choose Active RFID?
As a business owner, you're aware that every company's business processes require
a high level of process discipline. Unfortunately, this level is not achievable
by humans working in tandem with technology, and trying to overcome these limitations
is difficult and expensive. When you choose an RFID system you secure your customer
base who must to meet RFID mandates, you will reduce high labor costs and add efficieny
and productivity to your supply chain.
RFID won't marginally improve an already well-disciplined or well-performing process,
it will deliver a unique capability that overcomes the barriers that are usually
caused by operating environments or material characteristics.
Plus, RFID technology isn't just data collection, it's automation technology. Does
your company's process steps create interrupted flows due to manual scanning or
data entry at each step? If so you should strongly consider Active RFID technology
to further streamline your production flow. The manufacturing process is not the
only beneficiary of RFID - distribution environments can have a streamlined cross-docking
process, or a postponement operation that can add value to a product per customer
order.
